Cadillac Escalade ESV second row with seat back entertainment screens

What do kids actually want to talk about on the ride home?

Whatever they just did, in enormous detail, in no particular order. Our chauffeur asked these two girls what they had loved most about their Disney trip and then did the genuinely hard part, which is listening to the entire answer without checking out halfway through.

Parents will recognise the moment immediately. You have heard the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train story nine times already, and your capacity to be amazed quietly ran dry somewhere around hour thirty of the vacation. A fresh adult who actually wants the whole thing from the top is a gift, and everybody in the car knows it. The girls got to be the experts for twenty five minutes. Their parents got to sit still and look out of the window, which on the last day of a Disney trip is close to a spa treatment. That is not a service we advertise anywhere on the Disney World transportation page, because you cannot really put it on a page without it sounding ridiculous. It is simply what happens when the person driving likes kids and is not in a hurry to be somewhere else. We hire for that. It is harder to find than a clean licence and it matters just as much on a twenty five minute run.

The Genie Express Volkswagen Atlas on an Orlando transfer

Why do so many of our chauffeurs know Disney this well?

Because a lot of them have worked there, starting at the top. Simone Cerasa, who founded the company, is a former Walt Disney World Cast Member as well as an FAA certificated pilot, and that background shapes who gets hired here.

A chauffeur who has stood in a park in August knows which resort loops jam at rope drop, which bus stops are a twenty minute wait at park close, and exactly why a family asking to be dropped at their actual building rather than the main lobby is asking for something completely reasonable. It also means the Disney conversation in the car is real rather than researched the night before. Guests can tell the difference instantly. Children can tell even faster, and they are merciless about it. If you want the operational version of all this rather than the charming version, our MCO to Disney World guide covers the routes, the timing, and the resort drop off details we have worked out the slow way over a lot of trips.

It cuts down on questions too. A chauffeur who already knows your resort's layout does not need directions from a family who landed forty minutes ago.

Does prompt really matter when you are only going a few miles?

It matters most on the short runs, oddly enough. A long transfer has slack built into it. A twenty five minute hop from a Disney resort does not, so a chauffeur who turns up eight minutes late has already eaten a third of your buffer before anyone has touched a seatbelt.

This guest led with prompt, ahead of everything else they said, which tells you exactly where it sits in a parent's priority list. We stage arrivals early rather than aiming for the dot, and we send the chauffeur's name and vehicle description ahead of time so nobody is standing in a parking area at 6am guessing which black SUV is theirs. None of this is complicated. It is just done the same way every time, which is the entire business and also the hardest part of it. Families book The Genie Transportation Services once for the car seats and rebook for this, and it holds whether you are heading to a park, to a hotel across town, or back to Orlando International Airport at the end of the week.
